Armchair with steel frame, chromium-plated. Seat and back in machine-made cane, black or natural wooden edge.
History:
Designed in 1928 by Marcel Breuer. This model is undoubtedly the work of Breuer even though he incorporated elements which were not new. The seat and back of the cane version are a clear reference to the wooden chairs of Thonet. The idea of the straight-legged cantilever is usually attributed to Mart Stam. As a result of a law suit which began in 1929, the German courts attributed to Stam.
